I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at the University of Michigan. I specialize in ethics, moral psychology, and metaethics, with related interests in social-political philosophy and history of ethics (especially Arabic thought). I’m also interested in explanation in normative contexts, which puts me in conversation with epistemology, metaphysics, and the philosophies of action, science, and history.

My advisors are Peter Railton, Sarah Buss, Elizabeth Anderson, and Brian Weatherson. Webb Keane, an anthropologist of ethics, is my cognate member.
